What does THIS have to do with Aerospace?.....

Thursday October 11, 2007: On the way to Alabama, I spent some time in the Cherokee Indian Reservation (NC) and camped overnight in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park (TN). Although it is October 11th, the temperature was 37 degrees on the top of Clingman's Dome, the highest peak in the park at 6,643 feet.

If I were to guess what this has to do with aerospace, I'd say that you used a thermal blanket to keep warm during your camping. Thermal blankets are made from lightweight materials originally developed and used as insulation on the decent stage of the NASA Lunar Module as well as in the fabric of the spacesuits used by astronauts during EVA's on the Lunar surface. Of course I could be totally wrong!!! You'll have to let us know Steve.
