Friday October 12, 2007: Here are some pictures of the US Space & Rocket Center's "Rocket Garden". Wernher von Braun first proposed the idea to display the hardware of the US space program at the Redstone Arsenal while serving as director of the NASA George C. Marshall Space Flight Center. Included in the garden is a Mercury Redstone, a real Saturn 1, and the landmark full-scale replica of a Saturn V (standing 363 feet tall). One of 3 remaining real Saturn V rockets is being restored at this center and will be on display in a new indoor museum in the spring of 2008. As you can see, the sunset later in the day was spectacular! Click on the pictures for larger views.

I was always under the impression that the Saturn V stack on verticle display at Huntsville was an original. I guess I stand corrected.
Great pics, Steve.
